The cube is originally intended to provide direct communication between patients at home and nurses.The patient only has to rotate the cube so that the face indicating the degree of pain they are suffering is located at the top of the cube. The internal electronics of the cube picks up that face and stores the time and degree of pain of the patient in a database. The nurse can immediately receive a notification of this change on her phone and act on it.
The history of the degree of pain over time is recorded for later consultation.
