This project develops a modular mechatronic platform for integrating interchangeable electronic prosthetic devices. The system includes a quick-swap coupling mechanism that combines a secure mechanical connection with an automatic electrical connection through contact pins. Its distributed master–slave architecture uses CAN communication: a main controller coordinates the system, while each device contains its own electronics for controlling sensors and actuators. Two demonstrator modules, a rotation device and a gripper, were developed to validate the concept. The proposed solution enables new devices to be added with minimal hardware and software modifications, providing a flexible and scalable foundation for future intelligent prosthetic systems.
